Trauma Informed Somatic Intelligence for RMT’s & other Health Professionals
Course Description:
This course is designed for clinical practitioners to bring a trauma informed lense into a clinical application and give them practical somatic skills to integrate that understanding into their work. You will gain an understanding of the physiology of self regulation and the effects of trauma on these systems. You will learn to recognise symptoms of trauma, and how to use that understanding to create safer and more effective treatments with your clients. This course offers a strong experiential component to develop the right brain skill of being with others from a felt sense of yourself. This somatic intelligence is a skill that will set you apart as a therapist who understands and can work within a trauma informed framework in an effective and practical way.
Prerequisites:
Minimum of 2 year experience working in the field as health care clinician (massage therapist, chiropractor, osteopath, physiotherapist, nurse) or approval from instructors upon their discretion.

INTRO CLASS
Understanding the concepts of trauma.

Bringing trauma informed approach to the self through somatic sensing.
Duration: 2 days in person

MODULE 2
Using somatic intelligence to work with traumatised clients within scope of practice.
Duration: 2 days in person

MODULE 3: Advanced Applications
Direct techniques for working with traumatized clients.
Duration: 2 days in person
